Mission Statement
The mission of Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties is the work of the Catholic Church, to share the love of Christ by performing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
We carry out our mission by empowering individuals with the capacity and the desire to improve their quality of life. Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor. At Catholic Charities we carry out that command by providing help and creating hope for spiritually, emotionally, and financially poor individuals and families in our community.
Catholic Charities Agency Merger Announcement
With great pride and excitement, Catholic Charities is pleased to announce that with encouragement from the Most Reverend Bishop Earl Boyea, Diocese of Lansing, on July 1, 2010 Catholic Charities of Lenawee merged with Catholic Charities of Jackson County to become Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties.
Collaboration between the two agencies began in January 2009 when we started sharing staff and resources, including an Executive Director. We took this opportunity to carefully evaluate the impact this important decision would have on the agency. This partnership reaffirmed that merging the two agencies would allow for further utilization of resources, staff and programs. As a result, we now have a more cost effective means of operating the organization, meaning more of your donated dollars will be going towards providing life changing services. All existing services will continue at each site location.
